Why is Obama equivocating embrionic stem cell research with stem cell research?

A shell game with words?

Non embrionic stem cell research has been the most prodiuctive and holds the most hope for the future but gets a ho hum in the media who does not want to hear it.

Embrionic requires harvesting late term fetus and raises many ethical issues

because as he speaketh, so his followers believeth.

Scarey isn’t it?

His supporters didn’t think for themselves before the election. Don’t expect a grand awakening now that he has been elected. They remain his sheep

It will save lives.

Because Soros and Planned Parenthood told him to do so.

Actually, no, it doesn’t raise ethical issues. It’s a stark choice between helping the LIVING and kowtowing to unlettered religious fanatics.

The term “harvesting” is erroneous and inflammatory. Typical republican speak.

Wrong. The embryos are at fertility clinics and are destined to be thrown away. That’s why Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch supports embryonic stem cell research. There is nothing so regulated as stem cells. If you are trying to have us infer women will be abducted for late-term abortions, you’re way off. These are embryos, not yet a fetus.

While there has been hope with other stem cells, the scientific journals don’t agree with your wide-eyed conclusion that adult stem cells are better. Perhaps some day, but not now.

Obama favors unilateral style statements/policy. Whether it is a communist view or mere lazy simplification, he should stop doing that sort of thing because he in my view does this far too often and I dont believe he has the intelligence to see his mistakes and what problems it could cause due to the ignoring of effects.

I don’t really see any ethical issues with harvesting cells from embryos that would otherwise go to waste.
Secondly, where do you think that stem cell lines come from? If you really want to realize the tremendous promise of this research, then you want to give the scientists all of the tools you can, not disrupt the research at every turn by raising unfounded objections and throwing senseless legal roadblocks in the way.

Ethical issues my ***. Ethical dilemma is dropping a 500 pound bomb in a iraqi market to take out a terrorist gang. Dissecting a dead, frozen piece of chicken that was already gonna be thrown to the garbage is not.

Harvesting fetuses? Look, we won and we get to do whatever the hell we want to do. If a fetus or embryo has to be sacrificed for the benefit of all humanity, so be it.

When you know the difference between an embryo and a fetus, try asking your question again.

theres more money in treatments than cures. medical science is big business. actually the japanese have discovered ways to harvest stem cells from teeth. and have just in the last couple days produced working brain tissue from the same stem cells. unfortunately the pharmaceutical companies’ biggest clients are sick people. you cant squeeze money from a cured guy. and the pharmaceutical companies have a pretty big say so in government policy…

First, its not Obama that is doing that, its the media.

Next, embryonic stem cells do NOT come from late term fetuses or abortions. Embryonic stem cell research comes from embryos that are a few days old left over from IVF clinics.

In Vitro Fertalization is a fertility treatment. The woman’s eggs are harvested, fertalized with sperm, and then the embryos are frozen. Many embryos die during the freezing process. Then with each menstrual cycle, a few are thawed and inserted into the uterus praying that just one will implant. This kills embryos because if often takes several cycles before one will implant. Then after the women has given up or conceived, the extra embryos are thrown into the biowaste and incinerated. Embryonic stem cell research is the research on the embryos that are thrown into the biowaste. The research isnt killing the embryos, IVF is. The research is salvaging the embryos so that they get used for something other than a trash filler.

YOU need to do some research before you post.
