Love Diabetes: Stem Cell Serendipity
AllieBeatty asked:
Is the FDA marching to the beat of a new drummer? It appears President Obama is already influencing change and some might agree not a moment too soon. The first trial for stem cell treatment in humans has been approved by the FDA. Will this change lead to more hope in the treatment of diabetes? all I have to say about embryonic stem cells is….ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME
hi you look so much better here from your last video like youve become more younger looking, keep it up
“Obama is more about form over substance”
He is a politician after all, sometimes the most powerful man in the country is in a way powerless, in this case pharmaceutical CEO’s have the power over any politician; medicine is subsidized by tax payer at a negotiated price/cost to the gov, now you wouldnt want to go and upset the pharmaceutical companies now would ya? Kind of sucks
So any president would be in between a rock and a hard place.
Yes your skepticism is extremely justified as, how can I put it, well even science has its fair share of money hungry con artists. And some who have good intension in the beginning of the research get the taste of the green stuff and may actively keep the gravy flowing as long as possible. Even scientists and CEO’s are human and love the colour of money. Dr Faustman seems to be another deal all together, she has stuck her neck out and has openly said she is after a cure, she is to the point.
With fingers crossed
I’m going to take the skeptic’s side here. I think Obama is more about form over substance. Of course, only time will tell. I hope I’m wrong.
Having witnessed dozens of research programs that turned out to simply fill the pockets of corporate execs, I’m a bit skeptical about stem cell research as well. Hope I’m wrong about that, too.
Meanwhile, what’s the new CEO of the JDRF going to do about funding Faustman? That program seems more promising than stem cell research… at least to me.
High fives, Torancar!
Damn right
I don’t have much to say except for thank GOD for Obama opening up the doors. sigh….
Dying of a little wound from infection. Dying of heart valve damage. I say get real, get on with stem cells and see how many doors it will open. Otherwise quit the space program, quit hospitals quit life.
I say GO FOR IT with stem cell research, I think we have wasted too many years thinking about it, politicians procrastinating and going for the super moral ground direction. I say to the politicians have some bloody guts to make a decision and go for stem cell research. Can you imagine if politicians procrastinated over past medical technologies? We would still be dying of the common cold for god sake
Thanks always for the videos. The spinal cord stuff has worked before when there was a broken spine without a broken spinal cord.
I should’ve saved my kids’ stem cells from their placentas. I’m a little upset Obama didn’t railroad approval of federally funded testing.
